Budget vs. actual analysis is a detailed overview of all planned costs (budgeted) versus actual costs shown with color-coded variations.
How to read budget vs. actual?
For each item category, the total budget is expressed in few ways:
-
Sum on category which shows the sum of unassigned items and all assigned items for both planned and actual amount. Unassigned is shown in the case when the whole category is budgeted.
-
Total volume which shows the sum of all items in unit volume, for both budgeted and actual quantity and amount
-
Total weight which shows the sum of all items in unit weight, for both budgeted and actual quantity and amount
-
Total pieces which shows the sum of all items in unit pieces, for both budgeted and actual quantity and amount
In Budget vs. actual view, it is possible to see both the planned and unplanned items or/and item categories. Even when you haven't planned for something in your budget but you still spend your money on it, you will be able to see it in Budget overview.
